4 weeks after my last heavy hitting chemo cocktail of TCH
The ice helped a second time for my neuropathy.
I had very little pain compared to before trying the ice.
Right now my fingernails are trying to separate from the nail bed ( a new side affect). That is a little painful, so I cut my nails really short so they would not hang or get caught on things. More of a nuisance, compared to the muscle pain.
I am going through the extreme muscle fatigue and shortness of breath right now. I feel so restrained and restricted by my fatigue and swelling.
But I know I will improve.
Can someone WIND me back up?? or do you have a vintage Staples EASY BUTTON you could press for me???
I am starting to see a little improvement in my energy, but the muscle fatigue
is still very present and aggravating.
I also am having swelling of my hands and feet from one of the medicines.
And the lymphedema has flared up in my arm – probably aggravated by my gardening. Lymph fluids drain into your arm because the lymph nodes were removed under my arm. It swells a lot, aches and can cause permanent if left unchecked. I am nursing it along and going to a lymphedema clinic in 2 weeks
to see what else I can do.
At least I am over the worst hurdle – the 6 chemo treatments.
What I have ahead of me is….
1 year of Herceptin ( to fight the her+ gene) given intravenously every 3 weeks
until the end of the year.
5 years of a Aromatase inhibitor ( stops the estrogen)
and continuing to heal, helping my immune system get strong, so they will do
my reconstruction surgery.
It is scheduled for July 8th as long as I can get the swelling down and keep getting stronger.
I am praying now that my body will rid itself of the toxic chemo drugs really fast. And that I can fight back quickly from the muscle fatigue and other symptoms I am having.
I am juicing, and I have just started back with a very short version of yoga.
It will be a slow process – but I want to improve my energy level and strength. I cannot do more than 10 minutes at the moment and that is hard to accomplish.
I am so ready to feel better!!!
Thank you to everyone for your continued prayers and support.
I still have a ways to go. I love and miss you all.

Kelly,
ReplyDeleteSometimes miracles are in the slow steady progress one makes over time. Then one can appreciate where one has been and the long road traveled to get to the finish. And along the travel we can "smell the rose" of success and help those along the way who are not at the point that we have reached.
Every step we take in life is for a reason, regardless of the detours that are thrown up at us.
Love you lots!
